About these contracts

This two-pack of producer contracts contains one pro-artist producer agreement, and one production and representation agreement (pro-producer).

Producer agreement (pro-artist)
Agreement under which an Artist engages a Producer to conduct recording sessions and deliver certain tracks for a fee. The Producer will make reasonable efforts to present such compositions to labels with the view of securing a deal. In the event such deal is secured the producer will receive a commission on the advance by the label as well as royalties on future income. This contract is 2 pages long.

Production And Representation Agreement (pro-producer)
Agreement under which a Producer funds the recording of musical performances by an artist. Producer is assigned full ownership of copyrights and representation rights for the length of the term of the agreement OR up until copyright is assigned to a third party label OR once production costs have been paid by artist to Producer or recouped in the form of Royalties or otherwise. Termination of the agreement does not affect Producer’s entitlement to royalties.

What Previous Customers Have Said About Our Contracts

Red Tempa
Most music solicitors charge £100s for a single contract. When I saw these contracts on sale for £13.79 each I have to admit I was skeptical, but these are great.
- Red Tempa, UK hip-hop artist
Dynamik Records review
We really like your contracts, they're the most user friendly we have seen, thank you.
- Susanna Lepianka, Dynamik Records

Embracive Dance review
After looking for legal services to help secure my artist to the label, I found that these services were going to cost many thousands of pounds to have written by a lawyer. I then came across The Musician's Guide where I found various contracts available individualyl or as a pack for an affordable price of only £31.99, which would of cost me many thousands of pounds elsewhere. Looking through the example and purchasing the contracts, there are various documents which suit any music label, producer, merchandiser and musician's needs and more to secure their career in the music industry without worrying about losing an investment. Top notch contracts at an affordable price, take a chance and purchase these contracts and you will not be disappointed.

Frequently Asked Questions

How professional are these contracts? Do they hold up in court?
Quite simply, they’re as professional as music contracts go. Our contract templates are written by professional music lawyers at Avenant Law and have also been double checked and approved by lawyers from one of the major record labels. While they do hold up in court, we still recommend that you run them by your own lawyer to ensure that the template clauses are suitable for your situation.

Do these countries work outside of the United Kingdom?
Our music contracts are based on UK copyright and intellectual property laws, but are most certainly usable for musicians and labels in the United States, Australia, and other countries. If you are looking for these contracts to be legally binding in a country outside of the UK, it’s recommended that you run them by a music solicitor in your country to ensure that all clauses are relevant in the country that the contract is being enforced in. In our experience with writing these contracts for international clients, there are only a few very minor differences, but for professional usage it’s important to ensure they’re changed.

Is there any difference between these contracts and all of the free contracts on the Internet?
There’s a huge difference. We receive a lot of traffic from people looking for free contracts, and we also lose a lot of business to lower quality websites that offer contracts for free, but we stand by the fact that if you want a contract that will hold up in court and protect your music, a small investment will pay huge dividends in the long run.

The free options out there are mostly outdated and lack in professionalism compared to those offered on The Musician’s Guide. The small fee we charge ensures that your contract is up to date, comprehensive, professional, includes after-support and most importantly will protect you and your music.

What happens if I don’t like this contract or it’s not what I thought it was?
If the contract you bought isn’t what you thought it was going to be, or for some reason you’re not happy, just get in touch with us and you’ll get a 100% no-hassle refund.
