Here is The Musician's Guide's list of recommended music promotion services. Our main criteria when deciding whether a service is recommendable is how easily does it help you, the musician, to build fans. We believe that all of the services below
are cost effective (or free) ways to help you build and deepen relationships with your fans.
Soundout
Soundout is one of the best ways to get reviews for you music and get an outside unbias opinion on whether you have a hit on your hands or not. For more information on combining Soundout and Jango Airplay for a killer song launch, check out
this blog post by Brian Hazard.
Jango Airplay
Jango Airplay is a radio platform that allows you to have your music played on their radio between well known artists in your genre (that you can choose). They have over 8million listeners and the airplay fees are very reasonable.
Nimbit
Nimbit is an all round direct to fan commerce platform for musicians, but it's beauty is outlined in this guest post by Jon Ostrow, which explains how you can use Nimbit to set up a sweepstake to promote your music.

Mobile Roadie
Over the past year there have been countless smartphone app services for artists start up such as Get Sound Around, Band App, and Gigaboxx. But the favourite has to be Mobile Roadie, which is the app developer of choice for artists including Sharkira, and Diddy Dirty Money.

Splitgigs
Splitgigs is a relatively new website that allows musicians to 'swap' gigs - you can play at my gig in return for a set at your gig. It's still a new platform but it's a promising place to look for the odd gig and to meet other artists. Here is an introduction blog post on Splitgigs.

Fanbridge
One of the main points we emphasise here at The Musician's Guide is the importance of building a mailing list and using it to deepen the relationship with your fans. Our favourite mailing list management systems are without a doubt Fanbridge and Aweber.
