This Weeks Artist Interview: Red Tempa

Do you like this story?

This weeks artist interview is with Red Tempa – an upcoming British rapper who’s music promotes a positive message, de-glorifying guns, drugs and violence. Red Tempa has recently launched his album ‘Both Sides’ in the UK, and is going from strength to strength after a collaboration with Akon earlier this year and a support slot for Dizzee Rascal in 2010.

Hi there Red Tempa, first of all it’s a great pleasure having the opportunity to interview you on our blog, we wanted to theme this interview on the importance of refuelling your motivation and inspiration in the music industry.

Q. Could you tell us what your main inspirations are creatively?

My main inspirations have to come from traveling the world – visiting different countries, meeting new people and getting a break from todays online obsessed’ society. It just gets me all fresh and keen to write positive songs, taking time out in such a busy industry is vital.

Q. When it comes to creative inspiration, most musicians experience ‘peaks’ of inspiration from various activities, what things give you these peaks of inspiration?

This year has been so hectic and so crazy i have had to take so many little breaks to gather my thoughts. I love to make people laugh and getting into fits of laughter myself, this always helps me forget about any negativity going on around me and allows me to concentrate on writing my music.

Q. Finally, Can you tell us an interesting fact about yourself?

An interesting fact about myself is my heritage, get ready for this.. I’m half Northern Irish, half English, born in Berlin, lived in California, and have a Scandinavion sir name. I also came up with the idea of sun tan in a can, next stop Dragons Den!
