About The Musician's Guide
The Musician's Guide's Background
The Musician’s Guide is a website set up by Marcus Taylor, a former indie label manager and musician who wanted to share his insights on the music business with other talented musicians. Since launching in 2010, Marcus has helped over 100,000 musicians learn how to promote their music, and solve the simple challenges of being a musician, through this website.

Why did I set up The Musician’s Guide?
As a musician myself I understand how passionate many musicians are about succeeding and achieving their dreams of being a full-time musician – I was one of them. Running a label and also being signed to a variety of record labels taught me so much about the music business and what artists need to do to succeed. Armed with that information and the awareness of how many musicians could benefit from it I felt compelled to build this website.
My aim is to provide the best information for musicians as possible. The information on the site is contributed to by a variety of experts including music law experts who produce the music contracts, creativity coaches, publicists and music marketers, as well as a wealth of professionals in music management, recording, touring and other areas of the industry. If you’d like to help us make this site more useful to musicians, please get in touch.
